Mortgage Rates Jump Over 7% as Tariff-Driven Bond Rout Shakes Markets

Mortgage rates jumped sharply on Friday, climbing to 7.1% for the 30-year fixed loan — their highest level since mid-February — as bond markets reeled from tariff-induced volatility.
