PIMCO Municipal Income Fund II is the United States based closed-end management investment company. Its investment objective is to seek to provide current income exempt from federal income tax. To pursue the objectives, the fund normally invests a majority of its net assets in municipal bonds and notes. The fund portfolio of investments consists investments in different sectors such as the education, healthcare, and others. The fund also seeks to be alternative minimum tax (AMT) free by avoiding bonds generating interest that may subject individuals to the AMT.
