iShares ESG Advanced 1-5 Year Canadian Corporate Bond Index ETF

The investment objective of the Fund is to provide income by replicating, to the extent possible, the performance, net of expenses, of an environmental, social and governance (ESG)-oriented index selected at the discretion of BlackRock. The ESG-oriented index will generally be comprised of fixed income securities of issuers that meet a minimum standard for overall ESG attributes and which are not materially involved in specified business activities or controversies, in each case, determined by the index provider. To achieve its investment objective the fund uses an indexing strategy . Under this strategy, the Fund seeks to replicate the performance of the Index, net of expenses, by employing, directly or indirectly, through investment in one or more iShares ETFs and/or through the use of derivatives, a replicating strategy or sampling strategy.
